OUR FARM

Centuries of history and an entrepreneurial spirit characterise the Battifarano farm. During your visit you can explore its vineyards, fruit groves, and ancient buildings. Crates of colourful fruit, manuscripts dating back to the 16th century and all kinds of historical documents from the declaration of the end of World War I to the paper patterns for the dresses used by women in the early 20th century – are the background to everyday life on the Battifarano farm.

OUR FARMHOUSES

A holiday in one of our farmhouses offers a unique combination of seaside and countryside activities. A few kilometres from the Ionian Sea, Battifarano is an authentic Italian Agriturismo, where you are free to pick peaches and apricots directly from the trees and eat them. If you are passionate about wine, archaeology, or history, or if you just want to spend your time relaxing, this is the ideal location. We have four farmhouses, open from June to September, each with its own bathroom, kitchenette, air conditioning and TV. For availability, prices, and any further information, please fill in our contact form.

NERBY ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS

The Battifarano farm winery is a 5-minute drive from the beach resort of Nova Siri on the Ionian Coast, and about an hour’s drive from the famous Sassi di Matera, the ancient cave dwellings declared a Unesco site. You can also enjoy exhilarating adventures in the Pollino National Park or visit the Metaponto and Policoro archaeological park. Less than 50 km away lies Craco, known as ‘The ghost town of Basilicata’ and chosen by the Italian film director Pasolini and many others as a backdrop for their movies.

With its beautiful landscapes, delicious cuisine, and the warm hospitality of its people, it’s easy to fall in love with Basilicata!
